“The Bourne Legacy is not the only film shot in town,” says Philippine Star reporter Jessica Zafra. Jessica gives a Philippine perspective of what the 3Roads documentary Rescue in the Philippines and its story means to her “nation that welcomes refugees unquestioningly and allows them peace of mind and a fresh start.”

3 ROADS CREW HAS A SUCCESSFUL PHILIPPINES TRIP!
3 Roads just returned from shooting on location in the Philippines. Our new documentary, Rescue in The Philippines, will tell the story of how Manuel Quezon, the charismatic first president of the Philippines, Paul McNutt, U.S. High Commissioner of the Philippines, Col. Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Philip, Morris, Alexander, and Herbert Frieder—four brothers from Cincinnati who manufactured cigars in Manila—rescued over 1,200 Jews fleeing certain death in Nazi Europe. When no other country was willing to take in the masses of fleeing refugees, they alone implemented an intricate plan of rescue and settlement for tens of thousands of people, simply because “it was the right thing to do.”
So far more than a dozen interviews have been filmed in the Philippines, Israel and across the U.S. These include President Quezon’s 90 year-old daughter Nini Avancena, grandsons, historians, Eisenhower, McNutt and Frieder descendants, as well as rescue survivors with fascinating stories.
GEORGE LUCAS FILM “RED TAILS” USES “LEGENDS OF AIRPOWER” FOR RESEARCH
Legends of Airpower has been used as a valuable source of information for the Air Force — and now add Hollywood movies to the list! We are honored that George Lucas and his team from the new film, Red Tails, purchased the Tuskegee Airman episodes from our biographical series when doing their research for the film.
Red Tails, starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard, is inspired by the Tuskegee Airmen—a group of African American pilots during World War II.
The extensive information and actual interviews with the Tuskegee Airmen included in Legends of Airpower were valuable resources for the creators of the feature film. For more information on our series, visit the website at www.legendsofairpower.com. DVD’s of the series can always be purchased by contacting us at 3Roads: (301)662-4121.
